Prescription Free Contact Lenses

These days it seems every other person is trying to enhance their appearance in one way or another. The latest craze is that of colored contacts, as people are searching frantically for new colors and new styles for their eyes. Many people actually wear contacts purely for show as a fashion statement. Aside from the obvious sight advantages that come with wearing contacts, prescription free contact lenses are also widely used by people for cosmetic and/or costume purposes.

As anyone can guess, there are numerous reasons why a person would want non-prescription contacts. Obviously, the primary reason is the ability to change their eye color whenever they like. Typically, these types of contact lenses are referred to as "cosmetic colored lenses" because they help more so with a person's appearance than they do with vision. The range of colored lenses goes from multi-colored & bright to ordinary, light color tinted contact lenses.

Here are some common uses for non prescription contact lenses:

1. Cosmetic colored contact lenses are primarily used for the changing of eye color in a person. These types of contacts can be acquired from any optical shop without a prescription, as well as from numerous online stores too. It is a very easy way for people to change their eye color with very little hassle. As a matter of fact, any one can do it in a matter of minutes. Most people prefer to switch their eye coloring from time to time, which is often to match an outfit or fashion. Since it has such a large appeal and is readily available to all consumers, many people choose to get their colored contact lenses online.

2. The second most wanted type of contacts are theatrical and/or special effects contact lenses. In the past, these contacts were heavily used by actors and theater personalities in order to enhance their appearance while performing. The only downside, though, is that the contacts could cause eye problems for those wearing them; if their eyes were unhealthy that is. The special effects that can be had by these types of contacts are; complete black, glow in the dark, cat eyes, blue, red, & purple, crosses across pupils, etc. Theatrical and/or special effects contact lenses may have been first created for "special occasions", but they are now being used by thousands of people in everyday life.

As you can see, there are a plethora of prescription free contacts openly available to whomever wants them. Because they are non-corrective lenses, they may be ordered freely online or at any local eye ware store. With new contact lenses, you are going to want to give your eyes enough time to get used to the change. Also, be aware that your prescription free contact lenses should never be shared with anyone. And another thing, be sure to clean your lenses in a cleaning solution after each and every use to prolong their shelf life.
